Young Ridge 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon The 1995 shows ruby in color. This vintage has a clean aroma and fruity bouquet. The dominant flavors are cherry and chocolate, offset by tannic overtones and high acidity. Aged in used oak, the wine is mild and finishes with hints of smoke and marshmallow. 200 cases produced.

Young Ridge 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Again, the color is medium-ruby and has a very clean, fresh nose. Aromas are distinctive blackberry with herbal characteristics. Brought to mind are black cherry, cherry jello and chocolate. There is a smokey or dusty quality which balances the slightly tannic, or cranberry flavors. A mix of old and new oak was used to age this vintage. 300 cases produced.

Young Ridge 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon A darker color than the first two vintages, the 1997 shows deep ruby. Vanilla and fig Newton come through in the aromas, while the flavors again include black cherry, black berry and chocolate. This vintage offers fuller fruit, more complexity and depth. Superior balance results in soft velvet characteristics in its finish. Aged in 100% new American oak. 400 cases produced.

Young Ridge 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Toasty oak and cedar aromas complimented by hints of green olive and boysenberry. Solid tannin structure well balanced with the other components. This medium full bodied wine has good weight and a full mouth feel with a long pleasing lingering finish.

Young Ridge 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Deep rich color and a wonderfully intense and complex nose. Pleasing mature fruit aromas with a hint of black cherry, plum, and anise. Plenty of weights on the palate, but at the same time a silky feel with great structure and balance. The flavors mimic the aromas with added touches of coffee and pomegranate. Overall, this wine is a strong representation of Napa Valley Cabernet from an excellent vintage, 2001.

Young Ridge 2000 Zinfandel Ripe prune and dried black cherry aromas are echoed in the flavor with an extra dose of bright cherry juice. Restrained and appropriate oak backing compliments the fruit components. Soft, pleasing tannins are evident upon entry and on the mid-palate. This medium bodied wine finishes with pleasing fruit flavors and balanced tannins.

Young Ridge 2001 Zinfandel Enticing coffee and strawberry aromas carry through nicely on the palate. This wine is medium bodied with medium, light, soft tannins, which in combination with the bright fruit makes for a very enticing mouth feel. The flavors are balanced by a hint of toasty oak and linger enjoyable on the palate.
